Speaking English

There are many reasons why I am good at speaking English. It is our primary language in our household, and we also tend to watch English television programs and movies. I am fluent in English because my parents talked to me in that language when I was still a baby. I read plenty of books to keep my grammar correct, and I only listen to a few Tagalog songs. These helped improve my grammar in English.

There are also a few downsides when I use English as my main language. Whenever I use English in public, I get a few awkward stares from strangers. People here seem to think that you are weird or rich if you speak English in public. I also think in English, so it's quite hard for me to translate my thoughts into Tagalog or Bisaya. I could write a whole paragraph in English in less than 5 minutes, yet it takes me more than that time to write one in a different language. This is the reason why I struggle and avoid reciting in Filipino class. English also its has disadvantages.
