At the age of twelve, I learned to sleep alone in my spooky room. Although it is not really spooky, I learned to organize, be responsible and creative. Being the youngest and the only girl in the family, I must set a good example and be respectful to my parents. They say that my room reflects my inner personality beacuse obviously it is were you sleep, study and so on and so forth. The problem is that I have a messy room, you can see papers scattered on the floor and books lying around.
Every day my parents would invade it and complain, they don't know that is my nephew who throw, scatter, pee and play with my things in my room, all I know is that it is clean and then later it's messy. It's not because of my brother who puts gel into his hair and put the sachet on the table or putting his shoes near the laundry or scatter some wires to play his electric guitar, actually it is my nephew because my brother has to look up to him and he didn't recognize his actions.
Another disadvantage of having a room is that I don't have privacy, yes privacy even though I have a triple padlock in my door, I really have to open the door for my parents to see or look into my room. Another thing, I cannot sleep properly because my parents will go inside to check the electric fan, the windows and so on beacuse they are concerned and afraid that I might get a cold or dengue.
The advantages of having a room is that I can decorate it, have fun, turn the volume of the radio high and conduct slumber parties. I can sleep well at night because the sound of my father's big snore and my parent's chat early in the morning will not disturb me but when visitors came and stay overnight, I have no choice but to give up and sleep in my parent's room and suffer.
Having a room has a lot of advantages and disadvantages. It is a bad when your room is messy and it is good when organized. You have to be conscious and responsible of your doings so as not to blame people. You cannot blame your parents or anybody else because it is a sign of disrespect. So these are my experiences in my room and I learned so much from it.
